Getting started

SiteMark marks the websites you choose, so you always see where you are. A red ribbon on production, a blue one on test: one look at the page is enough.

Install SiteMark

Add SiteMark to your browser from its store listing (the install buttons on the home page link to them). After the install, SiteMark opens a welcome page with three short steps and the keyboard shortcut for picking elements. Pin SiteMark to the toolbar, so its button is always one click away.

SiteMark asks for no access to any website when you install it. It only asks for a site when you decide to mark it.

Mark your first site

  1. Open the website you want to mark, for example your production dashboard.
  2. Click the SiteMark button in the toolbar. The popup says that no site group matches this site yet.
  3. Click Mark this site. SiteMark creates a site group for this host, with one blue ribbon that shows the host name.
  4. Your browser asks whether SiteMark may access the site. Allow it, and the ribbon appears right away.

Reload the page or come back tomorrow: the ribbon is still there, without asking again.

Make it your own

Open Settings from the popup to change what the site group shows. Give it a clear name such as “Production”, pick a color, and add effects like a banner along the top edge or a frame around the page. Every change is saved at once, and open tabs update live. The other help topics explain URL patterns, marks and effects in detail.
